Hello! I am Adam Menefee and I have been working for DechtmanWealth for 9 years. I was born in Iowa but grew up in Ft. Collins, Colorado and went to college at CSU where I earned a degree in Applied Human Science with a Sports Medicine concentration.
One thing that people may not know about me is that I was a professional Cheerleader for CSU, Colorado Rapids, and even on the Denver Nuggets Co-ed cheerleading team. I was also a coach for CSU and an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets Co-ed team. I really enjoyed teaching kids and young adults on how to achieve more than they thought possible. If you have a child or grandchild who is involved with cheerleading let me know. I will send you a .pdf of my book that I wrote in college about stunting. I’ve included a couple photos of when I cheered for the Denver Nuggets. One photo shows me lifting two women at once! The other I am lifting my friend Trish, we are in the far-right side of the photo. Those were great times! I have many stories I would love to share with you, so if you ever see me at a DechtmanWealth event be sure to ask.
I am probably one of the only people who can say that I played a triangle solo at Carnegie Hall. In high-school I was a percussionist and had an opportunity to go to Carnegie Hall with the Orchestra. The main instrument I played at the time was the Timpani/Kettledrums; but yes, I also played a triangle. Carnegie Hall was an amazing place to see and to play at.
Hydro foiling is a one of my all-time favorite things to do, but I don’t get to do it very often. A hydrofoil is a lifting surface, or foil, that operates in water. They are similar in appearance and purpose to aerofoils used by aeroplanes. Boats that use hydrofoil technology are also simply termed hydrofoils. That’s me right before a big crash.
I also love watching movies. Some of my favorites are: First Knight with Sean Connery, Richard Gere, and Julia Ormond. Almost any John Cusak or Robin Williams movie, Serendipity and What Dreams May Come are two that come to mind with those actors. That Thing You Do with Tom Hanks is one that a lot of people haven’t seen, but I really enjoyed it. Maybe, that’s the appreciation for music coming out. I also really enjoy country dancing.
My family consists of my lovely wife Julie and our very observant cat “Blue”, named after Julie’s favorite food – Blueberries. My wife is simply amazing. We are newly married and live in the Thornton area. We are hoping to move further south to be closer to work. She has just opened a Physical Therapy office one block over from the DechtmanWealth office. If you ever need a physical therapist, or know someone that needs a physical therapist make sure to contact Julie. You can find her at www.apersonalizedpt.com. That’s my few seconds of advertisement. She is great and I am so glad I met her, she has really changed my life – for the better, of course!
My family also consists of my mom Jayne and step-dad Gary (you may have met them at a DechtmanWealth event), my dad Tom, and my brother Travis. My brother’s family is the greatest, he has two daughters that make me belly laugh all the time. My nieces swim with the Colorado Stars, and I enjoy talking to them about swimming events they are involved in. It has been incredible watching them grow up to become remarkable young women.
