Dechtman Wealth Management’s 2nd Annual Cookie Wars

‘Tis the season for sugar and sweets at Dechtman Wealth Management. Last year we decided to combine everyone’s competitive spirit and sweet tooth into a friendly office competition we call Cookie Wars. Each staff member brings in a homemade cookie to be judged by someone who does not work in the office. This year we were judged by Adam Menefee’s wife Julie! Everyone truly outdid themselves this year and Julie made a fantastic judge; she even took some notes!
This year there were three winning categories: Overall Favorite, Most Creative and Best Presentation. On top of all these delicious cookies we enjoyed some homemade hot chocolate. Nothing like washing down sugar with sugar! There were many varieties of cookies from Almond Joy to Salted Caramel Mocha to everyones favorite, Chocolate Chip! Keep reading to find out who won each category!

And the winners are...

Most Creative

These delicious Triple Christmas Spritzers made by April Costigan won over Julie for Most Creative cookie. She made a Peppermint, Vanilla and Lemon flavored spritzer. She even iced and decorated the tops of each cookie for an added bonus!

Best Presentation

Brianne Moschel made your traditional Linzer Cookies which took home the award for Best Presentation. Each cookie was filled with raspberry jam and sprinkled with powdered sugar .

Overall Favorite!

Last, but not least, the judges overall favorite cookie of the competition was Nissa Maldonado's Danish Cookie. The actual name for this cookie is Aebleskiver. Nissa used a cast iron skillet to cook these delicious cookies and then deep fried them. Each cookie was garnished with honey to make it even more delicious.

If you have any delicious cookie recipes you think one of us should try for next year's Cookie Wars, please let us know! Everyone here at Dechtman Wealth Management wishes you a holiday season filled with delicious treats, family, friends and happiness.
